When should I calibrate my Runn speed & incline?
The Runn is factory calibrated to be within .1mph accurate at 5mph and we've found that it can be more accurate than the treadmill displays in a lot of cases. This is due to the fact that treadmills are displaying a target speed that they may, or may not, ever achieve due to many factors such as treadmill design, treadmill age, wear and tear of components, runner load, etc. One way to verify Runn speed is to manually measure treadmill speed as mentioned in this link: https://www.zwift.com/news/23246-calculating-treadmill-speed However, if you want your Runn to match your treadmill, you can calibrate your Runn speed to match your treadmill.
Incline calibration is separate from speed as not every installation (or house surface) is level and our incline sensor is particularly sensitive. If after calibration you still experience an incline value that does not match the treadmill, this is most commonly cause by either a 'flex deck', suspension system, or otherwise some manner of treadmill cushioning system. In these cases, we recommend calibrating the incline while on the treadmill. If you want the treadmill belt running throughout the entire process, a second set of hands is the safest way to accomplish incline calibration while on the treadmill.
How do I calibrate my Runn incline?
- Download ConfigurEZ from either the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store
- Connect to your Runn via ConfigurEZ
- If your Runn does not show up, either adjust the slider bar in ConfigurEZ to the right, hold your phone closer to the Runn, or do both
- If you still do not see the Runn, double press the white button so the right-most LED turns on
- Select 'Calibrate Incline'
- Follow the on screen prompts
- Check the incline in ConfigurEZ to be sure it is reporting the incline you want to see.
- If calibration is successful, the Runn can now be used. If calibration still fails, please contact us at support@npe-inc.zendesk.com or submit a Support Request here including a picture of your Runn setup.
