How to use the NPE Pairing Pod

The NPE Pairing Pod can be used to determine the ANT+ ID of specific equipment for pairing to devices, leaderboards, or software. The Pairing Pod can be used as a standalone device utilizing our WASP-Util iOS Application, or the Pairing Pod can be integrated into your fitness studio leaderboard system for seamless identification, pairing, and setup of ANT+ enabled devices. For the purposes of this guide, we will assume the Pairing Pod is being utilized as a standalone device in a facility with our WASP-PoE, GEM3-PoE, or WASP-N installed.

Before you get started: Please ensure that your iOS device is connected to the same network that your WASP is on. This can either be through WiFi or through a compactible ethernet adapter, depending on your setup.

Step 1: Ensure that the batteries in the Pairing Pod are good by pressing the button on the pod and looking for the LED to blink blue.

Step 2: Open WASP-Util on your compatible iOS device.

Step 3: Select ‘Sensors’ at the bottom of the app.

Step 4: Select ‘Pairing Pod’ and then select ‘Expand’.

Step 5: Hold the Pairing Pod near the equipment and hold down the button until the light turns green, then hold the Pairing Pod in that position while keeping the button pressed.

Step 6: In WASP-Util, you should now see the Device Type and Device ANT+ ID. You can use those to identify, tag, or otherwise setup the correct device to the correct metric in your system using the ID.
