incline always reading 0 on Garmin watch
I am reading data from Runn sensor with Garmin 735XT using Ant+ only. Not getting cadence from Runn, have been informed that that is due to accelerometer not activated when not using Bluetooth.
Just installed the connect IQ for reading the incline, but the watch is always reading 0, unless it is not connected, when it reads --.-%. Not getting any variation in the reading. Is this a faulty inclinometer, or is the inclinometer not activated unless I am using Bluetooth, like the cadence accelerometer?

Hi!
The field should be paired to a Runn. The way to do this is to go into the Connect IQ field in Garmin Connect app and set the Device Number to 0.
Click on the watch in Garmin Connect
Activities & App Management -> Datafields -> Runn Incline Data Field -> Settings -> Device Number
Make sure you click ‘Save’ after setting the Device Number to 0.
By default the watches should set this to 0, but we have seen it sometimes be set to something else, so always good idea to set this to 0. After pairing this value will reflect the device number of the Runn – so pairing is generally a one-time operation unless you want to pair to a new Runn.Comment actions -
Not finding Activities & App Management. When I click on the watch, I get a screen that comes up with choices Device Settings/User Settings. What am I missing?
Edit #1: found it, I think. It's in Garmin Express, not Garmin Connect. I reset the device number to 0 (it was something like 5626662), but now I get an error code where I should be getting the incline field.
Edit #2: redownloaded the garmin app, now the device number is 0, I'm not getting the error code, just a steady 0.00% for the incline.
Edit #3: after sync, I noticed that the device number is once again 5626662

You need to update the firmware. The early runn sensors have a bug; the accelerometer for cadence and inclinometer aren’t activated unless you are using Bluetooth. If you are like me, and only using an Ant+ connection, the inclinometer isn’t being activated and you always read an incline of 0.
The firmware update can only be done with an Apple or Android smartphone. I don’t have a smartphone, and covid has made it difficult to borrow one, so I haven’t upgraded the firmware yet. You can find the firmware update here:

Look for Configurez, that is the app for connecting to your Runn sensor.

Thank you Kevin!
I think I have the last version (FW 3.2.9) and in the iOS-App I see the Settings
Switch on: Runn... button turns both Bluetooth and ANT+ radios on/off
Switch off: Runn... button turns ANT+ radio on/offI have tried both settings, but I receive alway -,--.
Very strange. I'll try to contact the support-team.
Egon.
