Incorrect elevation data when posting to Strava
-
Hi Joanna,
I'm surprised you get any elevation data at all from Strava for any Zwift activities.
As far as I know, when running using Zwift, the elevation logged never changes because your treadmill doesn't change elevation. For example, the elevation remains at 0 m as shown below :
I do hope in the future that Zwift, Garmin, and all other fitness platforms will support the Runn 'incline' data. If they do, they would be able to log the 'elevation gain' during a treadmill run.
NEW COMMENT THE DAY AFTER
Sorry for my above comment about Zwift not containing the incline data. It actually does. My previous sessions were purely with the Stryd footpod. I have now configured Zwift to use only the Stryd footpod for cadence (that way power is also logged if Stryd is connected via Bluetooth) and Runn as the treadmill.
Indeed, incline is logged in Zwift, which ports over into Strava and Training peaks :-)
Maybe Strava have corrected the problems ?

Thanks for your reply Robert.
Like you, I used to see 0m elevation gain on Strava when using a Garmin foot pod. But, since I moved over to using the Runn sensor, I’ve been getting very strange elevation data. Strava have corrected a few activities for me, setting them to the actual course elevation on Zwift, but I actually think it should be 0m elevation gain, as I don’t follow the exact inclines as I run on the treadmill (I tend to stick at 1%). Perhaps NPE could consider adding some sort of gyro sensor to match the gradient of the treadmill. In the meantime, I’m not sure what to do to resolve my problem! I’ve tried using a different device for Zwift but that doesn’t make any difference!
