How many reflective stickers for accuracy?

We typically recommend 3-4 sensor strips at least 12 inches apart. However if you want to add more to increase the frequency of your speed updating, just make sure that there are at least 12 inches between the stickers. Runn has 2 optical sensors and determines the speed based off it passing underneath these sensors, thus nothing is dependent upon your treadmill belt.

    Hi Erin,

Great, thanks for the information. That’s great the the speed (velocity :-) ) is calculated via the two sensors, and independent of the treadmill length.

I’ll be sure to respect the minimum separation distance of 12 inches.

Hi - I know this post is from several years ago, but I was wondering if 12 inches is the correct spacing or if it's 18+ as mentioned in this support video?
Also, is the accuracy affected if not all of the stickers are equally spaced apart?

I have an Assault Runner and generally it seems fine, but I wonder if there's any accuracy issues just because it seems like the RUNN module shows slightly different data - ~1.02-1.05 miles on the Assault Console = 1 mile on the RUNN module. I have 8 stickers total - the first 7 are ~18.5" apart, but the last one is ~16" apart from the first one. Will that cause any issues?

    Thanks!
    Kelvin
