Feature request - corrected power data using incline info from Runn
I recently purchased a CABLE on Amazon (will receive it tomorrow), and today also purchased a Runn (via Zwift).
See this link for a feature request I have made to Zwift to include not just power data, but 'incline' corrected power data : https://forums.zwift.com/t/run-power-incline-with-npe-runn-time-to-do-it-zwift-developers/208270
I have also asked Stryd for a feature request to include incline data from Runn : https://club.stryd.com/t/npe-runn-incline-data-integration/16232
Similarly, I have asked Xert for a feature request to include incline data from Runn https://forum.xertonline.com/t/npe-runn-incline-integration/33392
I wish you all the best on the mainstream use of Runn on treadmills. Runn seems like a great tool for treadmills, and could really be leveraged for power based training because it includes live, in-situ, incline data, which never existed before (previous solutions include manually entering incline data data in apps like Styd and RunCline, which is hardly practical).
In an ideal world the software for power training methods (such as Zwift (doesn't yet support running power), Xert iOS, Stryd iOS, Xert) would take the raw ant+ or bluetooth incline data, and adapt the power by recalculating it based on the incline. Today, this does not exist.
Therefore, I have a feature request, that may also help sell a few more CABLE devices :-)
Maybe it already exists, or you plan to implement it. My feature request is the CABLE device does the following:
- accepts ant+ incline data from the Runn
- iOS application has a check box to allow the user to either enable or disable 'incline corrected' power data (this is needed to be able to enable/disable the 'incline corrected' power data broadcast by CABLE via bluetooth in order to 'future proof' for when other platforms do eventually perform the incline corrected power calculation)
- performs and broadcasts via bluetooth (if enabled, see point above) 'incline corrected' power data
Thanks :-)
