Definitely the app. I had not been using the app or the heartbeatz pod for the last 8 months. I started using it again a few days ago with fresh battery in the pod. My Apple Watch Ultra is dead by 4pm. Usually I have 40% in the evening.
I might try the PK Fitness version.

It seemed to be resolved but this morning when I enabled heartbeatz I was prompted for the access so I guess it was updated. I granted all access and started my ride. After 2 hours my Apple Watch was at 4%.

My suggestion and what I have done is deleted the Heartbeatz app and download the Watch Link app. It's an app that pairs with the Watch Link Pod. The pod looked exactly the same as the North Pole pod so I thought I'd try and pair it to see if it worked. It did, and works very well. The app is free. The Watch Link website is www.watchlink.app to read more info.

I would have loved to support North Pole but they can't put in the effort to respond here so I'm using and suggesting to others to use the Watch Link version.

Thanks, I tried this Watchlink and it does work.  The connect/disconnect on pause  is not as stable as the NorthPole app but it functions well enough. I will switch back to North Pole once this is resolved. North Pole app should still be fine for indoor training which will be soon here in Quebec.
