Tested WYUR - good and bad

I couldn't agree more on the software. Even now, months after release it feels horrific to use. Unintuitive, buggy and with very obvious options missing.

The Cord and Wyur hardware are similar - very poorly engineered. The Wyur battery life is so bad, that I've resorted to taking the battery out after each use. The accumulated damage from repeated opening of the case will likely consign this shortly to the bin unfortunately. The Cord - which would be the obvious product is far far worse. Has never worked properly, routinely won't detect devices, fails to transmit data from devices even though it presents them correctly.

So for me, all three should be considered red flags and a clear indication that NPE need to invest significantly in product and software engineering as well as user testing.

I replaced WUYR with CORD because I needed it for stationary/home use and did a lot of testing, providing feedback to NPE.

There are major compatibility problems with it - it won't work with many applications and NPE did not get back to me when these will be resolved.

I am sticking with CABLE for now.

The Cord is just awful hardware. I was fobbed off by support initially and spend a long time trying to get it working in isolation. It did for a week or so and then just stopped and I threw it back in the box as a bad buy. The Wyur was better - but has degraded as the chassis starts to fail with repeated opening. I'm getting through a battery a week or so and that's with it being removed after use. Chronic really.

I've just asked that they replace both units.

I don't have a CABLE - but will look to see if I can get one. The alternative for me (running TrainerRoad and Zwift at the same time) is to ditch the AppleTV and buy a computer I can use an Ant+ dongle with.
